From a wild catch, the immature crabs are collected from mangrove area and stocked in individual boxes to grow and molt.
Each box is checked every four hours to identify whether the crab has already “molted” or changed its shell.
Once the crab has molted, it is collected and removed from the box. This stage is very crucial in the entire process.
After collection, soft shell crabs are immediately placed in fresh water to wash and prevent further hardening of the shell.
